Ko e founga hono ma'u'e Tonga 'a hono hingoa
This morning Mrs Tele'a told us a story by David Riley.Once upon a time a strong village man called Maui who was a superhero. One day Maui was walking down the river until he came up to a man called Tongataumata'u also known as Tonga the expert fisherman. They had a little talk and look around until Tongataumata'u showed him these beautiful shining hooks.
He told Maui to pick one of those hooks but Maui didn't go for the shining hooks he went for a old used hook with spider webs around it.But Maui ask what him what does he owe him,he said 'when you find a island name it after me'.So Maui went out in the ocean and went fishing,he felt something heavy so he pull it out and came out a island so as he promised he named it Tonga after Tongataumata'u.
